Here are 5 of the latest Nigerian songs to catch up to this weekend…
1. DJ Prince ft. Olamide & Phyno – Piom Piom
You know when Olamide and Phyno get on the beats, they are going to turn that track into gold. This song which samples some highlife beats will definitely get you nodding your head over palm wine or beer of your choice, especially if you have a piom piom (sauced periwinkles still in their shells – but in this case meaning bae) you’re are so proud of.
2. Larry Gaaga ft 2Baba – Iworiwo
After working on the Gaga Shuffle, we knew Larry Gaaga and 2Baba were definitely going to do more music together. This soulful love rendition has 2Baba and Larry Gaaga celebrating their love for their women – Annie Idibia and Uche Nwaefuna, respectively.
3. Korede Bello – Joko Freestyle
Mavin Records artiste, Korede Bello is always coming up with the catchiest of tunes. The Joko Freestyle is one that will make you wish the song never stops. Plus it comes with a challenge that promises N500k each for 5 people: a singer, a rapper and 3 dancers (or dance group) and the winners will also get to feature in the official video.
4. Di’ja – Mr Bob
Di’ja’s first single of the year, ‘Mr Bob’ is dedicated to the memory of the legendary Reggae artist, Bob Marley and was released on the day of his posthumous birthday, February 6. The video which takes a journey through time with its vintage retro setting to a more vivid outlook has Di’ja tackling happenings within the society.
5. Olamide – Woske
For his first single of 2019, Olamide is making sure we leave our seats and move to the beats – love the way I delivered that rhyme? LOL. The song which has him boasting of his wealth and musical prowess has its video showing Olamide giving us some Zanku and Shaku Shaku steps.
