Plus-size Fashion Week Africa is back again with a theme #BeautifullyMe and it is all about self-awareness. This year’s edition is set to hold on Saturday, November 3, 2018, and Sunday, November 4, 2018, at the Main Banquet Hall, Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The activities this year has already begun with the search for Africa’s Next Plus-size Model (ANPM); participants will grace the stage at the PFW Africa and the winner will get international modelling exposure. There will also be exhibitions running for the two days where designers and retailers will display their wares to the hundreds of people who will attend from all over the world. Emerging and established designers will also be bringing their A-game to the PFW Africa runway to showcase their creativity and diversity.
The PFW Africa brand has also announced Hegai and Esther as its official makeup sponsor for this year’s event. The makeup company is arguably one of Africa’s fastest growing beauty brands and already ranking among Nigeria’s top 10 beauty brands. The company has created a brand concept consisting of makeup products, hygiene essentials, accessories and tools designed and produced with the vision of becoming the preferred choice for end users across the African continent and women of colour everywhere.
For the finale, PFW Africa will be launching and having the maiden edition of its Masterclass called “Glow up and Flawless.” This masterclass will see plus-sized ladies being taught about mental well-being, body positivity and self-confidence. The final day will close with The Fashion Gala Night which is set to be an exclusive event where awards will be given to those who have contributed immensely to the plus size industry in Africa.
