The Most Rave-worthy Looks From Women Across Africa – Week Of October 12

They say October is the month of creatives; perhaps that explains why we are seeing a somewhat sartorial harmony both online and offline? Another technical reason – besides the fashion shows –  why so much is going on in the world of fashion and beauty might be due to the change in seasons.

Regardless, there is an array of ensembles that we may or may not be obsessing over, thanks to all the activities. To stir your spirits we’ve curated what celebrities and style stars across Africa got up to in the style department in the week ending on October 12. This edit features the likes of Nigeria’s Lilian Afegbai and Bamike (Bambam) Olawunmi, South Africa’s Kefilwe Mabote and Nomzamo Mbatha, Kenya’s Sharon Mundia, Zimbabwe’s Vimbai Mutinhiri, and Ghana’s Serwaa Amihere among others.

Here are the most Rave-worthy looks we spotted on women across Africa…

Knock-Out Style

Kefilwe Mabote

Of course South African influencer and image consultant Kefilwe Mabote had to lead the pack of stars under the knock-out style list. Her outfit was among the most stunning we saw, all thanks to the incredible silhouette and the ‘Jasmine’ hairstyle, which together, brought a unique richness to the look.

Lilian Afegbai

Nigerian actress and producer Lilian Afegbai in this look is definitely the poster child for sleek and sophisticated. Yet again, she trades in her simple, casual style for something more glamorous, and we approve!

Nomzamo Mbatha

South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha can do no wrong, honestly! What is even more interesting, is that she loves to provide personal insights as to what inspired her custom-made outfits. This look here is not subtle, and by no means does it suggest she wanted it to be. It hits a point that says: Nailed it!

Bamike (Bambam) Olawunmi

BBNaija housemate, now budding actress, Bamike (Bambam) Olawunmi serves an effortless kind of elegance with this black, beaded dress. There’s always something refreshing about the way Bambam carries herself. We think that her comfort in whatever piece of clothing she wears automatically gives it a boost.

Selorm Galley Fiawoo

Ghanaian actress Selly Galley channeled a #AllRedEverything monochromatic look and we are feeling it! Deciding on a monochromatic look sometimes can be a struggle, seeing as there’s a thin line between quirky/fun and utterly ridiculous. Here however, the actress managed to create an aesthetically pleasing combination.

Drop Dead Casual

Toke Makinwa

For drop-dead-casual, we are kicking off the pack with Nigerian media girl Toke Makinwa! What makes this look even more interesting, besides the print, is the styling with sunnies and leather beret, and how it all fits beautifully with her golden mules!

Vimbai Mutinhiri

Zimbabwean actress/TV Host Vimbai Mutinhiri isn’t all about dressing for the Gram, but when she shows up, she does it in colours. Her look albeit simple, is one that reminds us of our abilities to express ourselves with our dressing.

Serwaa Amihere

Ghana’s Serwaa Amihere is a woman of many styles. This time, she tolls the monochromatic route in a manner only her could do: simple and fresh, without any fuss.

Sharon Mundia

Kenya’s Sharon Mundia is a lot of things, but denying that her gorgeous smile doesn’t make us love her more leaves room for questioning. Here, the Blogger and now TV host does a fab job mixing colours and print in a memorable way.

Joy Kendi

There’s no denial that Kenya’s Joy Kendi is a style star! Like many influencers in her country, her choice pieces are always very fresh and often involve matching colours with fun prints and gorgeous cuts. This crop top look is a great look for a sunny Saturday.
