One of the best and most famous pop stars to ever come from Africa and easily everyone’s favourite is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun more popularly known as Wizkid or Starboy who first came to fame when he released the hit song Holla At Your Boy. Over the years, we have seen a lot of growth and evolution from his sound, personality and image, and particularly his style, while still retaining the original Starboy signature touch and magic that first made us fall in love with him.
Right from when we first saw Wizkid on the big screen, we could tell he was a stylish singer from his urban and street fashion style which reverberated perfectly with the youthful – both at heart and age – flair of his sound. Several years after and a lot of time spent in the spotlight, dressed by amazing stylists, and featured as a cover boy for several international magazines, the twenty-seven-year-old Ojuelegba singer has become one of Africa’s biggest style stars.
From his retro looks to his super casual and comfy oversized street fashion looks, Wizkid has an amazing way of wearing every outfit like a second skin. His style is merely a physical form of his sound: youthful and modern with a dash of retro spice and a hint of Afrocentricity.
It’s particularly amazing how dynamic he is with his style without loosing himself in fashion.
