Save the brilliant collections and how he selectively dresses the women that bests represents the brand, every year since he took the fashion world by storm with his KimYe Spring/Summer 2015 campaign in 2014, looking forward to seeing Olivier Rousteing‘s editorial narrative for the house of Balmain would be likened to waiting up on the Paris Fashion Week itself. The designer who presented his womenswear Resort 2017 alongside his Spring 2017 Menswear show has released his editorial campaign for Resort 2017 which according to him was inspired by the late French Artiste “Guy Bourdin and the bold spirit of the best of 70’s Fashion Editorial”. While Guy was famed for his bold approach to art, Rousteing channeled all of that bravery using bright colors, texture and fit (relaxed and body conscious).
While the campaign isn’t as captivating as its usual, it maintains its signature number of three to four muses striking a pose. See selected pieces from the collection in the gallery above.
It’s worth of note that the Balmain luxe maison was sold just a few days ago to a Qatari sovereign wealth fund for roughly $550 million. Now, how’s that for cashing in style!
