t the risk of sounding like a broken record, we’ll say this: ‘last week was quite a week!’ On one hand, it seems like the week went on for a month with the amount of notable events that took place, and the looks that were served in it. On the other, it seems like the week was barely two days long because the events made it go by even faster, but that is to be expected as we head straight into fall and fashion week season.
Last week was quite a remarkable one: we had a few losses (may they rest in peace) in the entertainment industries, New York Fashion Week kicked off, a little catfight and shoe throwing between the queens of rap, Nicki and Cardi at the NYFW and so much more.
With all of these happening in such a short span of time, it is quite easy for the slayage and looks served to get lost and be underappreciated but we would never let that happen. To ensure that in the midst of all the chaos and fun you don’t miss out on the most fashionable moments served, we have curated ten of the most fashionable looks seen on women across the world!
Relive last week in slay!
How we love American RnB singer Kelly Rowland’s George Keburia power suit!! It just screams boss woman to us. The expert styling by Rebecca M Gross who subtly added the Tyler Ellis clutch which blended in, yet set the whole look off is applaudable.
Nigerian celebrity stylist, Veronica Ebie Odeka simultaneously epitomizes the Lady In Red and Boss Lady in this elegant statement dress by Nigerian brand Bridget Awosika as she celebrated her 40th birthday.
Canadian actress Shay Mitchell came through dripping and looked like an absolute dream in this Julien Macdonald rose gold knit dress as styled by Monica Rose, and let’s not get into the perfection that is her face beat and hair!
Everyone’s new favourite celebrity power couple – Indian actress and singer, Priyanka Chopra and her partner, American artist Nick Jonas – effortlessly nailed their looks to Ralph Lauren’s 50th anniversary show held during NYFW.
Hairtrepreneur Chioma Ikokwu is forever serving beauty and fashion goals and she does absolute justice to this tulle dress by Nigerian bespoke fashion brand Wakaddy.
Subtly dramatic and eye-catching are the words that come to mind looking at American attorney and pod-caster Angela Rye’s stunning outfit by luxury women’s wear brand Cushnie as she attended day one of NYFW.
Brazilian blogger and influencer Camila Coelho looked effortlessly glamorous in this Ralph & Russo dress which she wore to the Harper’s Bazaar Icons event. We love the interesting use of fabric to walk on the thin line of drama and simplicity, and do you see that thigh slit? Yes, Slay!
Nigerian artist, Falana’s overall distinct style comes alive in this asymmetric dress by Nigerian fashion brand ‘I am Isigo.’ We totally love the peculiarity of this avant-garde look. Notes taken!
