Recently featured on Essence Magazine is Dana Danelys De Los Santos, popularly known by her stage name, Amara la Negra. The Dominican-American multi-talented artist who is also a part of Love and Hip Hop: Miami, started out as a child performer at the age of six and later became a prominent child artist in the Latin American community.
According to Essence magazine, “Amara La Negra has helped the world see the infinite beauty of being Afro-Latina — from the food to the melanin and most importantly, to her, the music”.
Amara La Negra loves her natural curves, has refused to be defined by her hair or skin colour and she also loves that the Afro-Latina community is united.
