Every year, Pantone reveals the colour of the year and for 2018, it is a dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade, PANTONE 18-3838. According to the brand, the UltraViolet shade chosen communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future. The brand believes that being complex and contemplative, UltraViolet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now. The vast and limitless night sky is symbolic of what is possible and continues to inspire the desire to pursue a world beyond our own.
It is also believed that the PANTONE 18-3838 UltraViolet symbolizes experimentation and non-conformity, spurring individuals to imagine their unique mark on the world, and push boundaries through creative outlets.
About the Pantone Color of the Year
“The Pantone Color of the Year has come to mean so much more than ‘what’s trending’ in the world of design; it’s truly a reflection of what’s needed in our world today.” – Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute.
The colour chosen for this year is one of my personal favourites and I believe this will be an instant hit with brides as there will be Asoebis in varying shades of purple this year. If you are loving this colour as well, then these outfits will inspire you on how you can incorporate the UltraViolet hue in your looks in 2018.
